Do the perfect ballerinas exist? You know, the ones that transform you into a sophisticate and delicate French woman without giving you the "blister limp". They do actually and after scouring the market for an entire fall and trying several I have found mine.
I am a Louis Vuitton brand loyalist. I like their design and it feels less wasteful but more of an investment. Yes, this is grown ass woman math. So, first up was the Nina Ballerina Flat They were discreet and cute but the back side went up too far and pinched my foot. The leather was beautiful but I had a hard time seeing that they would give me anything but the "blister limp" hustle. 6/10.
Next up were the Dior Ballet Flat and they run about half a size up from your normal size. These were super comfortable but hard on the bottom, not a lot of cushioning. I would rate these 8/10 with a deduction for value for price.
And finally, I had my eureka moment. When the birds were chirping and mama's feet were ensconced in magic clouds. I found my ballerinas, my French Sunday afternoon with a baguette under my arm vibe. Josefinas of Portugal . They arrived smelling like the cobbler literally was in the box with a lovely hand-written note. Their shopping experience made me feel like I was their only customer. 10/10.
Despite Nina of Portugal's comfort, I do need that extra little spring in my step. So, I turned to Amazon and found a little help. I put these little cushions on the heel part and also under my toes. Why did it take me 50 years to realise that these existed?
